Crosscutting the Scrappers

Within 7 hours of landing in Pittsburgh from our travels to Florida, Annabeth and I, along with my mother found ourselves at a Mahoning Valley Scrappers baseball game at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio. Mahoning Valley, Class A Short Season affiliate of the Cleveland Indians were taking on the Williamsport Crosscutters, Class A Short Season affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The humidity was high along with the number of errors committed by the Scrappers, but not the cost of our tickets thanks to the kind people who gave us a voucher for free general admission tickets upgradable to actual seats for $2 each. For a remarkably small venue located just across from the Eastwood Mall, the Scrappers served decent beer (I got a Leinenkugel Summer Shandy) unlike the Jupiter Hammerheads.

The Scrappers lost to the Crosscutters, so we departed early after purchasing a pennant (thanks to my mom for the purchase!) and attempted to cherry pick some foul balls in the parking lot behind home plate because I really wanted another New York-Penn League baseball. Unfortunately, no foul balls were hit over the stadium roof in the ninth inning.
